Trained as an architect, she creates her lines of contemporary jewelry following a well-defined project of composition, as though they were small architectural structures. Up to now, passing from one material to another with extreme self-confidence and amusement, she has been developing and moulding various lines of jewels which are immediately recognizable in their geometric structures, choice of materials, cutting and well-defined lines.
A studied choice of materials, a use of industrial manufacturing techniques such as the laser cutting of methacrylates , pvc and metals, precisely conceived projects, an elegant play of colours and the recovery of a wholly Italian craft tradition are the hallmark of Alessandra Calvani, who reveals her creative talent in a mixture of Architecture, Fashion and Design.
